In my opinion, the benefits of IF are that I am not hungry all day long. When, in the past, I did CICO, I never quite felt full and it was really difficult to stick with. With IF, the first week is a little tough and then it gets pretty easy and I feel full most of the day. And when I do get hungry, about 16 or 17 hours into my fast, it doesn’t take over my thoughts like it used to. I just drink some water and move on with life. I am sure there are different experiences for everyone, but I do think it’s worth a good try if your curious. Just try to stick with it for a few weeks so your body can start to adjust.
If should trigger ketosis to burn fat while cico deficit brings down weight. Weight loss doesn’t equal good shape like fat loss does..and IF 16/8 or Omad can help achieve cico deficit.
Now add in some sensible food choices for your Now IF+CICO diet like proper macros and good fat low carb high protein and you can see the difference in weeks not months.
The trick is finding a way to do all that that is of course stable and sustainable.
In my mind, there’s 3 components:
You can do controlled timeframe eating and still gain bad weight, by eating bad food at large volumes.
However, if you eat healthy food, in limited quantities, within set timeframes, you can do yourself a lot of good, because you eat quality nutritious food at not too much, and then give your body time to stop constantly digesting and processing incoming food, and instead focus on body maintenance and cleanup. You gave it sufficient quality sources, and now it can switch to repair mode for awhile.
