IF plan for 2023

Hello all. I’ve been doing 18:6 fasting daily and really feeling great on it. I’m thinking of adding in a weekly water fast day (42 hr fast) to see how that feels. Edit: commenter correctly pointed out this is a vague motivation. Would be doing this to see if I experience any benefit from longer fasts… more mental clarity? Autophagy of loose skin from prior weight loss? Easier weight maintenance? Mostly just curiosity, since I have found the shorter fasts easy. My schedule would be: Monday- 18:6 (lunch at 12, dinner by 6 pm) tues- 18:6 (lunch at 12, dinner by 6 pm) Wed - 18:6 (lunch at 12, dinner by 6 pm) Thurs - water fast (42 hr fast) Fri - lunch 12, big feast dinner by 6 pm Sat - go for run, breakfast with family, have lunch, dinner by 6 pm Sun: 18:6 (lunch at 12, dinner by 6 pm) I also do a spin bike ride and some body weight strength training every morning at 5:30am fasting, love that habit. I gave myself a plan for take-out dinner ok Friday and breakfast with family on Saturday for a bit of a “feast” day following the longer fast. Any thoughts on this schedule? I’m excited to try it.

Answer

I’ve been doing omad since 10/8/22, and lost about 7 lbs then weight loss stopped, so I decided to do a longer fast ( last Friday)just to see how it would go. My 20 hour fasts are pretty easy. I started my fast Thursday evening around 10 pm and finished Saturday afternoon around 2pm(40 hours). I felt great! I’m going to do another one next Friday! Just fasted on water, coffee, tea and decaffeinated coffee (Friday after work at 8pm.) Now I know longer fasts are not going to be too bad!Good luck with yours! It does feel pretty amazing!
