IF suggestions for night shifters?

I started antidepressants around 2 years ago and the weight creep was slow and semi unnoticeable. I didn’t pay it much mind. In August I started a medication and I put on 15lbs in a month and really took notice of my weight. (I have since safely quit that med because the side effects were unacceptable.) I, like many of you I’m sure, refuse to let this continue. I’ve been on night shift for a while and will stay that way for the foreseeable future. Definitely want recommendations for night shift IF as I know nights does screwy things to your body. Is there a ratio that works best? Or a something I should include in my diet? What worked for you? My “day” starts around 330pm and ends around 8am. Currently 5’6” 180lbs. Recent bloodwork looked good so there’s no underlying issues. Drinking 56-90oz of water while working, 32 or so on my days off. Vitamin D is daily.

Answer

The honest answer is just do your best.

You have to plan ahead and look at where your eating and fasting times you would be, and also tie it into your sleeping schedule.

You’ll have to find the best options for yourself, and not worry about the ‘perfect’ one. And as you go on you can tweak it to better suit yourself and your lifestyle.

Just make sure you’re getting good sleep and work on any stress issues. These are just as important as your diet.
