IF while traveling

Hello! I started IF right after Christmas at my husband's suggestion after he has had great success with it over the past year. I've been doing 16:8 with my eating window between noon and 8pm and feel like I'm doing pretty ok with it so far. We are going on a short trip out of town this weekend and will be changing time zones. I might be overthinking this, but how do you all handle fasting while traveling? Like if I arrive in the new city at 1pm local time but it's 11am at home, should I just have the first day's fasting time be a little shorter and then continue with 12 to 8 moving forward?

Answer

If you’re not hungry when you get to your destination just don’t eat. It doesn’t have to be that strict in my opinion. 16/8 can easily become 20/4. 🙂 if you’re hungry when you get to your destination- eat and then start your fast.

I use a fasting timer app, so it counts how long I’ve fasted, rather than going by actual time zones time. You can also just shorten or lengthen you window if that is easier and you like having a specific time (1 PM) regardless of the time zone. I find loosening up my window a bit when I travel works well for next too.
