IF with GI conditions such as gastroparesis?

F 22, 16:8 Hi guys! I was looking to discuss issues with the gut that could inhibit progress with IF. I am currently on week 4 and losing weight a lot slower than usual. I do have a long history of stomach issues, and lately my breath has been awful. It smells pretty sulfury and it has been going on for the last several months (before I started IF, however IF has made it worse). I went to the dentist to make sure I didn’t have anything going on with my gums or teeth but I was given a clean bill of dental health and he told me he thinks it could be coming from gases of undigested food sitting in the gut too long. This seems accurate, given my breath typically smells like a rotten version of what I ate the night before. If I am having trouble with digestion, could this prevent the benefits of intermittent fasting since my body seems to be digesting things very slowly? Has anyone ever experienced this before and know how to help? I plan on buying some probiotics and digestive enzymes, but not sure that it will totally fix the problem. I eat a very well balanced diet with lots of fruits, cooked vegetables, whole grains, fish, chicken. Red meat, dairy, and sugar are in small amounts with moderation.

Sounds like a question for a nutritionist, but getting into see one can be difficult I know.

You mentioned probiotics, and I think that would be a good start. I definatly had some digestive issues when I 1st started IF, particularly when I made the switch to OMAD. I have one serving of plain greek yoghurt almost every day, seems to help. Not so much with breath, that wasn’t my issue, mine was coming out the back end a little too quick if you know what I mean. YMMV

M 36 here and I’ve had the same issue with my stomach. The bad breath went away when I started the probiotic.

It came back at the beginning of IF then everything came back to normal. Definitely start with the probiotics and see the gastro if you can
