I’m a recovering insomniac, so for the last few years I have been on a strict sleep schedule with a nightly vitamin drink that I take.
I want to start IF, but I just looked at my vitamin drink and it has 45 calories and 5 carbs. I take it at 10:30p every night.
Before I realized it had calories and carbs, I planned to fast 8p-12p. Now I’m wondering if 10:30p-12p (12.5 hours) would be enough? My plan would still be to have nothing after 8p except that vitamin drink.

I think 14/10 is a good starting point with many people progressing to 16/8 without much difficulty. The vitamin drink seems as though it would break your fast….would you consider taking it at 9 pm? Then you could start with 11 am to 9 pm.

Have you looked to see if there’s a non-sugar version of what you’re drinking? Vitamins themselves likely have 0 cal so they’re adding something to make the drink more palatable or enjoyable but it’s unnecessary most likely.
