Is a longer fast for me?

Is anyone here in to weight training? I would love to have the benefits of a longer fast, but not sure if it will allow me to continue weight training. I have been on keto for 5 months.

You’ll lose gas. I don’t know if you remember the drop in performance when you started keto (no carbs for workout fuel) but it kinda feels like that on steroids. Mentally I’m a lot clearer/cleaner and can “go longer” but the reps in a set are tapped out sooner. Keep in mind I’m chronically ill, though, so my experience in general is not at all typical

Before getting sick, I did love doing 48h into a fairly intense workout and then break the fast with keto focusing on protein and fiber for that first meal. I tried to drag up the studies I’d read years ago on it but can’t find them but either way, I love the feeling doing that gives. I really feels like I get more out of the workout in terms of strength and aesthetics
