If there’s calories in the Kool Aid, and there is, you’re breaking the fast. How long are you trying to fast for? If you’re physically collapsing you’re obviously fasting too long. Try starting with 16:8 and go from there.
You’ll adjust to the loss of sugar if you slowly wean it out of your diet, but especially out of you fast days. I drink Zevia instead and it’s amazing. Feels like cheating without the sugar! You can find Zevia sodas and teas on Amazon, Target, and sometimes Walmart. Try to get off that Koolaid!
Some people need a blood sugar bump through the day. Don’t let anyone get you into unhealthy dieting/fasting. Some people can pass out without the proper blood sugar balance. If this kool-aid is helping you get through your fast and you’re losing weight, it’s a successful method of dieting/fasting.
Seems like your goal is weight loss and you aren’t interested in the other health benefits such as ketosis, autophagy, etc. So, yes, you will lose weight. That’s just as simple as calorie intake.
A lot of people here fast to fix health issues and in that case any calories, especially sugar, breaks those benefits.
