Obviously, I cannot recommend that you fast or give medical advice BUT I can share my personal experience. I am currently doing IF 16:8 as a breastfeeding mother. Why I believe it is a good choice for me: I started at 7months pp so my milk supply has been well established, baby has been on an excellent growth trajectory, he is experimenting with some solids at this point, I make sure to stay well hydrated, and I am not actively restricting a lot of calories but rather eating more intuitively during my window. This is also my third child and have had long-term successful breastfeeding journeys in the past so I feel I am experienced enough to understand what’s going on in my body and to recognize if any problems arise. I would stop immediately if I felt that my supply was dipping. I would not attempt a long term fast at this point. For reference I have lost 8 lbs in 4 weeks.
