Is there anyone here that is working on those last 10kgs/20lbs?

Hi! Most of the before and after posts and success stories are about women dropping huuge numbers of kgs (or pounds :)). I'm more interested in those who are close to their goals, are neeeeearly there - what is working for you? Or what didn't work for you. Or maintenance - is there anyone here just maintaining? How? I'd be happy to drop to my weight before my previous pregnancy: 33yo, height: 180cm Starting weight: 89kg in May 2021 Current weight: 82kg Goal weight: 75kg Thank you edit: correcting starting weight

Answer

Hey there, congrats on your success.

I (34F, 165cm) went from 96 kg to 65 between february 2020 to april 2021. Now I stopped OMAD and do 18:6 to maintain, without using myfitnesspal anymore (except for occasions I know will have a lot of food). I still bike or walk everywhere possible and am around 10 000 steps each day.

I am content but wouldn’t mind being below 60.

That’d be me. 35F, 157cm.

I’m so close and it has been SO frustrating. Before I got to IF, the only way I got down closer to my goal weight was strict keto and running - and that hurt my body in a way I don’t want to do again. Gained it back, I’m a shorty so 15lbs is very noticeable on me, and I’ve been doing IF with - honestly - very little success, for about 3 months. I’m not seeing results and getting frustrated, and then not doing things consistently. It’s also been a crazy busy summer and I’ve been eating a lot of junk for the sake of convenience.

Doing CICO before IF, I had to basically maintain 1200kcal / day if I wanted to lose at all. That’s the struggle bus for me! Looking at working in some HIIT workouts a few times a week to help out with that. I really love food and cooking, so it has been quite the struggle to count every single last ingredient’s calories in the dinners I make. I’ve found IF to make it easier to stay under 1200…now, I just need to focus and get 1 solid month of strict IF in, lol

What has worked for you?

Answer

I’m 25F, 165cm, SW: 75, CW: 67, GW: 60. I started last March, doing minimum 16:8, but with some longer fasts. I don’t count calories but I’ve been trying to incorporate regular workouts in my week. So far August has been the toughtest, because while on holiday my routine was disrupted and I never had time to work out. I still maintained my IF, but the whole month has been a big plateau… I hope to be finished and maintaining by next March :) I think when you’re close to your goal it’s natural that it takes more time than the rest..

I was always in the last 20lbs haha! It’s very slow and takes lots of patience.

Now I’m in the final recomposition and maintenance phase, and having a schedule for eating helps because I can do it forever. It’s hard to know how frequently to eat or how much food to eat is tough, but I can dynamically change that day to day which is good.

Is anyone else having some trouble with heartburn and/or some uncomfortable feelings in their throat when eating more often or having heavier and more processed foods? I’ve noticed that recently.

Answer

This me. I’ve been trying to get to my goal weight for years after losing a bunch of weight years ago. Lol

GW: 58 kg

I’ve gotten down to 59.9kg (you better believe I included that decimal point lol) but wasn’t able to maintain it. I generally hover between 61 and 63 kg. I’m doing the 5:2 plan and app. 1500 calories the other days plus a lot of walking and gym and hoping this works.

I’m still shrinking but the scales are not budging!

Had an IUD fitted recently and my cycle is all over the place. I am eating more carbs than normal. But running every day (was walking up until 3 months ago).

Generally do 18:6. Minimum 16:8 and sometimes I can get a 20:2 in. My living circumstances have changed temporarily so I am little less in control of my diet, but i will be back on my own again soon so can be lower carb and healthier.

I plan to get the tape measure out and see if there are changes, I think that will give me some more motivation.

Hi! I’m in maintenance mode right now. 33YOF 5’4” sw: 163lbs cw: 130lbs. I got through my last 10 lbs by switching to completely clean fasting. You may already be doing this but basically I just have non flavored water and black coffee during my fasting window. That made a huge and steady difference for me. I’m actually still loosing but it very slow and subtle. IE I’m sometimes dipping down to 128. Right now I maintain by limiting my snacks and not over eating, I just focus on stopping when I’m satisfied. Also, a weekly 20:4 day helps me keep things in check.

22 5’4 here.SW: 190CW: 160I would like to be down another 15lbs maybe more? I am kinda content with where I am at but I think I would be happier with just a little bit more.I currently do 18:6 sometimes I go longer than 18 I also exercise everyday. The scale hasn’t moved really for the last month. I started taking measurements and I have lost inches I even went down another pants size. So maybe I’m gaining muscle?

Answer

Hello there! Congrats on your success!

I am currently trying to lose my last kilogram out of 17 (I was overweight). To be honest I’m not really trying hard. I am kinda hoping it will happen over time lol. So I still track calories, but I’m more concerned about maintaining, as I know how hard it can be.

Answer

I feel you. SW 72 kg, GW 53 kg, been stuck at 64-65 kg for 3 months. Only way I can drop weight seems to be through extended fasting but just don’t have the concentration right now. Instead, trying to exercise more so I’m more muscular at this weight. If I can’t lose, I’m at least maintaining!

Omad worked for a while and then I hit a plateau for over 5 months and was at 158lbs. Decided to try Adf on the 30th of august and i’m at 152.6lbsLosing weight with menopause is so tough. I don’t lose weight as fast as I used to and the abdominal fat is disgusting. I’m so glad that adf is working now
