It is always water weight?

I am already doing **keto**, 3 months in, but I just fasted for about **48 hours**, but I usually fast, just not 48, normally just (2) 24hr fasts per week. so I am curious, how'd that break my **plateau I've had for 1 mo and 13 days,** and why'd I drop a **whopping 10lbs**? Also, for those doing low-carb, is there a **cheaper alternativ***e* to mayonnaise, besides making my own? The ones ***without sugar*** are like ***5x*** as much, and **1/3** the size in some instances...

Answer

It’s interesting that you dropped that much weight in 2 days since a keto diet should already have removed the hydrated glycogen. Assuming your TDEE is 2000 kcal then you would have dropped \~1.15 lbs of fat at best. Even if you were working out like a pro athlete (4000 kcal/day) you would still be well under 2.5 lbs of fat loss. It’s possible you had some inflammation that was resolved during the fast but otherwise I can’t think of a good explanation.

For your info, making mayo takes about 2 minutes with a stick blender and gives you total control of the oil used.
