I’m doing similar, eat 2 days a week, but it’s the full days not just one small meal. I’m not an expert, the only thing I’d be worried about is malnutrition with respect to certain micros depending how long you keep up the regimen, but taking the vitamins/salts may be good enough esp. if refeeds are super nutrient dense as well.
It sounds like you and I are on similar paths. I have been doing OMAD for several years, but in the last year and a half was not doing anything but eating junk. I decided on the 8th to change my habits and get back to a healthy weight. I’m 6’1” and was 260lb. Since the 8th I have done a 48, two 72s, and broke my first 96 last night. I haven’t felt this good in years and I am down to 245. Going to keep doing a routine of 72 then 96 for the rest of this year to get down to a healthy weight. I eventually want to be at about 185. If you ever need encouragement hit me up. You’ve got this.
This is often referred to as “rolling 72s” and it’s great. Personally I would eat more meat and less carbs but if it’s working out for you, that’s totally fine.
The only real drawback is that you’re not on a consistent weekly schedule. IE your feeding days are different from week to week. Up to you whether this matters – I like to work out at the same time every week and I don’t like to workout after feeding, and also I like to have business lunches at consistent times. The way I’ve solved this is by doing two 48’s and then a 72 (you could also do a 96 and a 72, or two 84’s). But if you don’t need that kind of consistency, just rolling 72s is great.
