Recent research seems to indicate that the early time restricted feeding has a small advantage where you load up on fuel and protein first thing in the morning and have a much smaller meal near the end of your feeding window.
That being said, it’s not that easy. Social pressures like family dinner makes it really hard to stick with the eTRF pattern. I tried it for about 30 days and it just didn’t work for my lifestyle for various reasons. I’ve still lost almost 60 pounds this year. The most important biohacks are the ones you can stick with.
Eventually I just went back to skipping breakfasts because it was so much easier to be consistent with that kind of eating pattern. I still try to keep to eating with the sun and not having food once the sun has gone down though.
How about you try different time periods and see what works for you?
And if something doesn’t seem like it’s working, switch it up. And if you need to, eat an extra snack while you transition.
This is all really personal. And while something might seem better on paper, in practice whatever you can keep up is going to be better for you in the long run.
