Just restarted IF (again) Why am I plateauing already?

SW 113kg CW 109.5kg Doing daily 18hr and 36-40hr weekly Maybe plateau is a bit dramatic, but its been a few weeks ive recommitted to doing IF, and its was good. I lost 3kg of water it the first 2 days, then 2kg overtime in about 2weeks+. I shifted my diet by reducing carbs and heavily reducing sugar, only sugar thing i ingest is the kamboucha i bought a while ago, im satisfying my sweet tooth by eating nuts, about a handful and if I’m out of control 2. Lots of grilled chicken and some veggies. But essentially it seems the train stopped and is moving backwards a bit. Normally it’s always moving downwards even if just a bit (about 200-300g ish daily) always weight myself at the same time. Only thing that changed in these few days is I played 1hour of sports which I haven’t done in a million years during my fast. From that day till 4 days now, my weight was stagnant and now raised a bit. Ik 4 days isn’t a lot in the long term, but the trend has stopped and reversed a bit whats up with that?

Answer

My weight, for some reason is low on Mondays, stays the same or even slightly increases throughout the weekdays, and then is down again the next Monday. Not sure why, but I’ve noticed that’s what happens. I would stop weighing everyday if it’s gonna upset you when you don’t lose each time. I just weigh a lot because I find it interesting.

Answer

You’re right, 4 days isn’t long enough for a trend. Two weeks is barely enough for a trend imo. Two months seems like a decent starting point.

Stop weighing every day and relax a bit! Weight can fluctuate up to 2kg a day for some people just due to water. You mentioned exercise/sports and “gaining”. Did you drink a lot of water? It’s likely you didn’t pee all of it out. Extended fasts can also lead to more water rente toon in between feeding windows. If you’re not eating, it’s likely that you’re filling your stomach with water instead.

I would switch to weighing once a week and adding a non-scale measurement. Maybe you have a pair of pants that is just barely too small? Take some pictures!

You got this! :)
