| | Water Fasting

Just wrapped up my second 120+ hour fast.

Just completed my most successful second EF ever and pretty excited about it. People irl don’t get it/have concerns/etc, so i wanted to share here. In the past i have always had a complete stall in weight loss in the second of two back to back EF. I went into this one knowing i could run into the same issue, but i was motivated and did it anyway and was more successful than anticipated! Stats: 35/f SW: 222 Cw: 199.6 GW: 145-165 First fast was 6 days and a breeze. I was carrying a lot of water weight, so went from 222 to 205.6. Gained 1 lb exactly on refeed. For refeed purposes i broke in the evening with ramen broth and a fairlife protein shake and then next day had two meals. Lunch was okra pan fried with two slices of bacon. Dinner was a stir fry of zucchini, onion, and mushrooms with a paleo korean chicken thing i found at Costco. Started my fast again following dinner. Those meals worked well for me, so i am going to replicate, with some additions. My second fast was considerably more difficult for me because i had relentless heartburn that just wouldn’t let up with acv or electrolytes. I dropped from 206.6 to 199.6. Another thing i faced in the second fast was diminished capacity in the gym. This was unfortunate for me and has me a little conflicted on a path forward. Mostly the issue was general weakness and fatigue during a workout (kickboxing), and i struggled to keep my heart rate in check as well even early in the fast, though that part could have to do more with the brutal cold i just cleared. I have broken my fast with the same ramen broth as last week, followed by the protein shake, and then a few hours later i had some tuna salad. Tomorrow i plan to follow the same meal plan as last week, perhaps with slightly more protein. Moving forward, i had planned to do rolling 120s until it felt too hard, but the heartburn is a problem. I’m going to try another this week to see if it happens again i think and revise perhaps to rolling 72s if it does. If it doesn’t, i will continue as planned on 120s. I have two motivators. The first is to be able to better compete in kickboxing; all of the men i spar with are in great shape and can easily outlast me. the second, more time sensitive motivator, is to prepare for my sister’s wedding in early april. I’m not sure i have time to hit the higher range of my goal weight by the first week of april, but I’m going to try my best. If i can maintain at least a 4lb loss every single week until the wedding, then it will be possible, but that is assuming no hormonal setbacks. Only time will tell, i suppose! Reading everyone’s posts every day helps keep me motivated, i appreciate all of you more than i can say!

My plan as well is to do rolling 120’s until I reach my goal weight. I’ve only done one so far as last week was my birthday so I was determined to resume starting last night. I haven’t experienced heartburn while fasting. Could it be what you are eating during your refeed?
