Keep going .. no matter what

Sorry in advance for the long post. I started this journey a year ago almost. My initial goal was to drop 50 pounds, from 270 to 220. This community has helped me to stay on track and keep my head it in when it’s been difficult. I made my initial goal in July, and I’ve shed an additional 10 pounds slowly over the last 5 months. More importantly, I am in a much better place physically than I have been in my entire life. I could be further along if I ate healthier during my window, but I’m at a point that I want to just maintain. I get 16 hours, minimum, in everyday and usually I extend it to 20-23 hours 3 days a week. Exercise has gotten easier as Ive lost the weight. I’ve started working out and running, almost religiously. I’m at the gym 3 days a week and in addition I’m road running 2-3 days a week. As my endurance has gotten better, I’ve started running longer distances, and a couple months ago I got the insane idea to run a half marathon. I’m going to run the Greenville half marathon at the end of February. Everything that I’ve read said that since I already run a good bit, that I am going to need to spend 12 weeks training. Well the time has come for the training to begin, and week one is in the books. I’m hella sore to say the least

Congratulations sticking with it and achieving your goals. I just started this week and it’s going good so far. Don’t really know what to expect for myself except I want to get my weight below 220 currently at 290 now. Update us on your half when it comes around.

Congrats! And thanks for spreading the encouragement to those just starting, struggling, or questioning the process.

It works, and if done correctly, is natural, normal, and healthy. (Unless you have specific health conditions, in that case, do research thoroughly and precede appropriately.)

So many people view fasting as unhealthy. Even now at a healthy weight, I typically eat in 2 hours window a day. Mainly OMAD. When they try to state fasting is bad, I simply reply with, “then why does our body hold onto and store fat?”

Losing weight makes EVERYTHING easier. When I was 75 lbs overweight I got along just fine. It didn’t stop me from traveling, dressing nicely, hiking, skiing, yard work, whatever it may be. Although my weight wasn’t holding me back, it was!

Traveling is easier, I love not busting a swear boarding a plan, my endurance for a hike is so just higher, and I can enjoy the views more than focusing on pushing my body. Dressing, clothes shopping, oh my, what a different world. I went from hoping to find at least something that fit and was semi flattering, to having so many options that it’s hard to narrow down.

You all got this. Keep it up!
