Finally someone (basically) in the exact spot I’m in. I started at 254lbs now I hover around 198-207lbs. My gw is 190lbs but it’s basically impossible without a crazy fast. I dry fast 2 days a week and snake juice 1 day and 16-8 rest of the week. I exercise as well.
It’s crazy because I know I could get to 190lbs with a 7-10 day fast but what then? Omad tiny breakfast won’t fit my life at all. I find it very difficult to come up with a fasting routine that keeps me losing weight and is sustainable long term.
I keep hearing in the podcasts he’s been in that he recommends breakfast OMADs and training later in the day. Have you tried dry fasted Sauna time? He says it burns fat “like crazy.”
If you message him on IG he replies relatively quickly.
Edit: Would you mind weighing in u/AmericaneXLeftist ? Im still not convinced that you’re not Cole
Hey man-don’t get discouraged. Stay constant.
I’m very new to coles teaching. I just ordered my first packets and still waiting to get them.
I’m 6’3”. My weight has been all over the place for 10 years. I’ve been as low as 170 and high as 285.
This past year I went from 285 to 215. That was through daily workouts and diet. Started with keto, transitioned into strict carnivore (those two lost me 50 over 4ish months) then moved into the vertical diet when my workouts ramped up a lot more.
I would like to hit 200 myself and I will try periodic fasts to get there.
However several years ago I was in a rather intense academy where I came in at 225. In 4 months I left at 170. This was an unhealthy weight loss but it came from essentially OMAD (usually accidental) and many hours of PT. So if you have the time to ramp up the PT and limit the intake the possibility is there to slam that last bit off. You’ll have to work for it though.
However you may get there with fasting. But after you’re there-how do you keep it there?
To begin with, stop using the packets. Everything you need for snake juice can be bought at Walmart for FAR less and it’s ultimately more convenient to make your own. I’ve also found that people who use the packets tend to mix it too light.
My advice to you is going to vary based upon how advanced your training is. You said you were deadlifting and squatting at least, which means you’re likely benching and doing other movements as well. I’d need to know a little more about your training and the progress you’ve made to say anything for certain, but I think I can give you a routine you’ll make great progress with.
Drop it to one small meal a day, about six hours before your workout. Keep it lean and clean; a piece of red meat, some vegetables and some sweet potato. As for your training, I’d put you on something like a modified Stronglifts 5x5, just the big movements 3 days a week, but I’d drop all your lifts to about 90% of your regular training weight and tell you to just maintain that level of intensity as you cut rather than trying to raise your numbers. Remember that cutting weight while remaining at the same strength level is also progress. As for your cardio, just don’t do it before your strength work.
Lastly, I’d throw in one 48 each week, following your third training day. So, if you train Monday/Wednesday/Friday, I’d skip your meal on Saturday. Go ahead and train like this for a month and I expect you’ll have dropped significant weight.
This all assumes you’ve made significant progress in the weight room. If you’re more of a novice or early intermediate, my advice is going to change to rolling 48s followed by full body gym sessions at moderate intensity 6 hours after each meal.
Start measuring your waist regularly. If you’re lifting weights you’re gaining muscle, even with the fasting.
I thought I was stalled too, then I started waist measurements and watched it drop 3” while my weight stayed practically the same. In the end I had abs and was 10 pounds heavier than I thought I would be.
Bro stop the diet. LIke bro its extreme. I did it two summers ago. started my hair loss and i swear its never gone back to how it was. I plateued HARD. Just start tracking your calories. eat at 12x your bodyweight the rest of the way and just make healthier food choices. I lost a ton but now im back up where I was. “although i have much more muscle now. but fr man. you eat at a 1000 cal deficit you can lose that weight in two months. Or you know what. Take a maintainence week or month. Eat around 15x bodyweight in calories. Try to fill up on healthy food cause trust me ur appetite will try to get u to eat everything. then go back to it. I promise itll fly off.
This might be an unpopular opinion here … but why the need to drop more weight? Sounds like you’re in great physical condition and have found a strategy that is working for you in the long term. Your GW might need adjustment? Again, I don’t know you or anything about you other than your post, but maybe stop beating yourself up over 15lbs. Congrats on maintaining great condition for years. That in itself is worth celebrating!! With Love
