liposution + IF?

I'm generally curious if anyone has ever done this? It seems like lipo itself doesn't really change your bloodwork (ie get rid of metabolic syndrome)....but IF does....rather than fast down your weight, has anyone done lipo and then continued IF until they came out of metabolic syndrome? Almost seems like a quicker route to what we want? Just a heads up I'm 13 lbs down on my most recent journey (a lot more if I include a few years ago) so for me its just something i wonder about 'to speed up the process' and would require a lot more research (dont know the risks or requirements of lipo). Looking to drop to 190, at 231 right now. started at 244, was 263 at my heaviest

Preface: Uneducated on lipo and no medical background. Heck, I don’t even do webMD to find out “what that symptom is.”

I was thinking this sounds like a “not great” idea, personally, but I think I just have an avoidance of stuff like that, so I’m probably just a bit biased. It may work, but I think IF will do a more “balanced” approach to your weight loss, including areas you cant see (fatty liver, etc).

I also think that lipo tends to be “spot-specific” meaning you might get rid of belly fat, or your bum, or wherever is your goal, but lipo isn’t a whole-body weight loss. I think IF will balance it out more… but I have no real clue, but more just giving thoughts on things to research if you really want to head down that path. I kind of also find it “gimmicky” to some extent and while we all want to be at the weight we want to be by tomorrow instead of six months down the road, we think of all sorts of possible side routes to get there. But what I feel is that IF has giving me a lot more than just weight loss. My caffeine intake is down while my energy is up. I have a ton more energy and drive to do things instead of just sitting around. And all of that, to me, is important.

Without knowing anything about you, I was 234 on 1/11/23 and am at 214 today (M56-6’1”). That’s only a couple months, and 190 is in sight (my goal is really 199 for now). But those couple of months might be similar to a full recovery from lipo where you might be limited in what you can do…

All that said, It might not be bad for someone super heavy to get them help in getting to a better weight for being able to move and exercise. I don’t think of 244 as super heavy, but that’s because I’m a 6’1” male and have been active around that weight for well over a decade.

For me, I’d almost only consider it as a last resort, but that’s me and we’re all different on here. No matter what you do, congratulations on your current weight loss trend. Having the desire to get healthier is always a good thing, and exploring options on how to do it is as well. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Wondering how well this works, if your weight is down what will motivate you to keep it? With getting the weight down with IF (and some sort of diet) you at least have a journey behind you. This could provide you with a toolset to influence your weight in the future. At least that is my opinion ( from a random internet stranger).

Quicker is not always better. Ultimately you need to sort out why you gained the weight in the first place, and change those habits for it to stick long term. Similar to those on Ozempic that are gaining all the weight back and then some as soon as they come off it, they lost it quickly, but never learned new habits along the way, once the crutch was gone, they were back at square one
