Hi so got dumped by love of my life on new year eve, that sent me to a very dark place but I decided to invest in myself, I am doing mostly OMAD no sugar bread or pasta etc just lots of salad chicken or meat, reduced the portion as well like taking roughly 500 calories, sometimes I fast 30-40 hours, don't feel hungry at all, drink lots and lots of water and 2-3 cups of black coffee.
I have started loving long walks even though my mind gives me a tough time during that but I keep going 7-10 miles a day, I was 84kg on new year night now I am 71kg lost most of my beer belly, I am 172/38/M.
Someone told me it's unhealthy to lose so much weight in this short time and I am liking my metabolism.
Dear fellow fasters please guide me.
Answer
10kg a month is way too much dude, it’s not healthy especially for such a prolonged period of time. The maximum recommended monthly loss is 4-5kg.
You’re not fasting, you’re starving. You’re going to lose a lot of muscle mass that you wouldn’t if you had followed a less extreme routine, and then you’ll have to gain it back up which is much harder to do without also gaining fat (that’s the entire point of bulk/cut cycles).
I lost around 5kg in january for more or less the same reason as you (I really just didn’t feel like eating that much) so I know it may feel like you don’t need the food, but you do.
