Migraine prevention

I really am interested in the benefits of prolonged fasting but really struggle with migraines whenever I try to fast, even if I’m well hydrated and take electrolytes. Almost every single time I go even just a few hours without food I get a massive migraine that lingers for days. Any advice on how to overcome this for a prolonged fast? I’ve done intermittent fasting with a 6 hour feeding period for a week before and by the 5th day I could fast without a migraine but I’m wondering how I can avoid it when trying to do a stand alone longer fast? I really would love to benefit from everything fasting can help with but these debilitating migraines make it seem impossible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated:)

Answer

Hi. Migraine is a common thing in the 3-5 first days of fasting. It may last a day or two. It didn’t am happen in all my fasts but in about half of them.Paracetamol may help to go through this phase but it usually goes away by itself in 1 to 2 days.
