How is your eating outside of fasting? Like diet wise? I’m a fellow migraine sufferer well former. I eat keto now and haven’t had a migraine since I settled into it and it’s made my fasts so easy! I was one of those people who with have a migraine for like 4 days straight and no amount of medicine would help at all. I’ve learned one of the biggest triggers was my heavy sodium intake and often times chocolates too. My mom taught me to find my triggers because she suffers from bad migraines as well.
I stopped getting head aches when I started drinking some salt after every day. I just dissolve some salt in cold water and drink it. I find that it tastes great as long as I need it. Kind of like soup. Then when I’ve had enough it starts tasting as disgusting as it sounds. Only had to do this the first few fasts I did. Now I only do it if I go three days or longer. Hope it helps!
Hey There…
Migraine and Headache sufferer here.
Best way to approach a fast, is to build up to it for us…at least in my experience. At first, I would get a headache every time I skipped breakfast, but after pushing later and later meal times, I was able to go longer without getting a headache or feeling nauseous. For your fast, you might just start with skipping breakfast, then having a later lunch for a few days, then only having dinner, then slowly extending. Maybe give that a try.
I would definitely go ahead and use electrolytes as a supplement.
And maybe clean up your diet really well for a few weeks before you do any of that. Whether that means getting into keto or just avoiding unhealthy foods…find something that works for you. Set yourself up for success! You can do it.
im thinking maybe accupressure points . maybe pressure points in the neck ? just a thought . also , you know the square orbit sanders that r about 5’’x5’’ . take one of them without sandpaper on it and massage back of neck / shoulders / abs (i say abs because on fast mine hurt and i also get brain tension so maybe the headaches related to hurting gut) . and ginko increases crainial circulation so maybe a tea of it . and i just played around with one of these yesterday and its great for deep massaging stiff areas of back / shoulders : https://www.amazon.com/Thera-Cane-No-Model-Massager/dp/B00NH0XG7E/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1547349603&sr=8-4&keywords=theracane%2Bmassager&th=1&fbclid=IwAR1e0kJMta5qdKTQtk9dAuhtEHxkj0YThGdmJWMahknU496pp0Ek3TGVaPo
I used to get migraines often (family gets them too, thought it was hereditary).
This sub, keto subs, and other fasting subs recommend keeping well hydrated and supplementing electrolytes (sodium/potassium/magnesium). Once I followed those recommendations, migraines stopped completely.
It’s possible that you’re dehydrated and/or low in electrolytes. So look into snake juice, bone broth, pickle juice, etc and drink more fluids than you are now and see if it helps.
Worked for me. Migraine free for several years now.
