New! Am I on the right path?

Hi everyone! I'm new to IF! I'm 33F and gained too much weight to my taste over the last few years due to burnout, pregnancy and postpartum depression. I've always weighed around 65kg but now I'm at 77,8kg (weighed this morning during my first fasting period). My wish is to go back to 65/67kg. I downloaded an app so I can monitor everything and I've just started on my first week 16:8. My first fasting Window was okay, I was really hungry at around 12-14hrs in but after those 14 hours I was feeling fine again! I don't really look at the amount of calories, but I try to make healthy choices (switching most carbs for protein) and I drink a lot of water and tea. I haven't really worked out the last years, so I've started with going on walks with my family, the last day 1hr each and I take care of our household. I'd like to start one hour of yoga when I'm a bit settled with it all. When I'm more used to IF I'd like to increase the window of fasting So my questions are: - is this sufficient enough to lose the desired weight and improve my health? - do you take breaks in between weeks of fasting or is it a continuous thing? - any other tips? Thank you!!

Answer

I think it depends on how much you’re consuming during your 8 hours of eating. Fasting is a continuous thing! You can have longer windows some days and shorter windows some days, but to really see the benefits you’d like, I believe it needs to be a lifestyle. I’d recommend reading or listening to “fast feast repeat”. It was a game changer for me. Good luck!! You can do this!!
