New to IF

Hello, I'm a F in my late 40's needing to lose 40 lbs. It's mainly to be healthier, have more energy and with that, lose weight. I have the book, Eat Stop Eat that is giving me more information on IF. I'm happy to be in this group to learn from everyone. A little about me, I am not the kind of person to always think of my next meal and I can go a long time without eating. It's when I do eat, I tend to choose sandwiches with fries and maybe a soda. I love breakfast on the weekends mainly consist of eggs and English muffins. My husband is the cook and he always makes healthy dinners. I rarely snack at night and I don't have cookies and chips in my cupboards. But with all that said, I need to lose 40 lbs. I have RA and this one medication I took made me gain a little more than I wanted. I no longer take that medication. So I figure IF can help me shed these unwanted pounds. I have a nice exercise bike that I use 3 x a week. I work remote and work 10 hour days sitting on my rear which I know doesn't help me stay active. I'm working on a better routine as the weather gets warmer to get me outside more. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give a little background. Any suggestions on how to start the IF? I'm thinking 15 8 to start? Appreciate and thankful for being in this group. ☺️

Answer

Hi there! I’m in a similar situation. Work from home, F, mid 40s, want to loose 40lbs. Have a stationary bike and treadmill which I prefer. I’m walking every day for 30-45 minutes. On OMAD with low carb as I was already doing 16:8 with healthy food (carb heavy) but weight was still going up. I found OMAD and low carb was necessary to kickstart my system and so far pretty happy with it’s going. 4 days in. Wishing you all the best 💪🏻
