New to IF

Any ideas to improve my 18-6 plan. I skip my breakfast and start with my lunch (bowl of rice with lentil stew); for dinner, pbj and fruits. Coffee without milk & sugar and plenty of water during IF.

What are your goals with IF? The one thing that stands out to me is you could maybe improve macros a bit. That sounds very carb heavy, low on protein, and maybe even not enough fat. Even without satiety reasons or other specific goals, it might help to balance out the nutrition a little.

But otherwise sounds like you’re doing a lot right.

I’d add protein: beans, tofu, nuts, seeds. Also maybe consider some more veggies. If you eat eggs or fish, I’d add those in too. I do about 95% vegan/gluten free/IF (we have to taste test dishes with carbs and animal products where i work, so those bites keep me from being completely vegan/keto) and I definitely eat a LOT of protein to stay full! As mentioned, you have next to no protein in your diet. This is going to be problematic.

Edit: I feel like I should at least explain why I said the above….

In the end, an (almost) zero protein, high carb diet like you’re pursuing will lead to awful food cravings, a much slower metabolism, massive blood sugar spikes and dips, and, eventually, anemia.

It seems like you don’t want to eat meat. Which is fine. But you need to find substantial protein somewhere or the metabolic benefits of IF will be almost completely lost.
