New to this!

Hello! I’m 39 years of age and in menopause due to having a complete hysterectomy for medical reasons, I am on HRT and have noticed my appetite is getting out of control, so someone suggested this to me. I tend to eat low calories meals but my snacking has been ridiculous. I am trying the 16/8 12-8 as that fits in with work hours and daily life. 2 days in and I think I’m doing ok, but the hunger pangs at night and in the morning are a lot. Will these get better? I only drink black coffee and water as a rule, so I’m not missing having sugary drinks. I don’t weigh myself as I have an unhealthy relationship with scales, I just want to get to the point where my clothes feel comfortable again,

Answer

Yeah, if you’re used to snacking often you’re going to have an adjustment period. It will get better. I find the longer I string together fasting days, pangs or even thoughts of food go down. I’m also able to feel satisfied on much less food.

If you are a snacker then IF might be a bit tough, you cantry to purge as many simple white starchy carbs as you can from your diet, some people talk about “carb cravings” when they first try IF, thus may help . Best of Luck .
