Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been doing IF +CICO for 15 days after changing what I eat wasn't doing the trick. I also quit drinking 5 months ago, and typically weight loss/face gains are a happy side effect of getting sober. After hitting a recent milestone I figured it has to be how much/often I'm eating.
Today I sent my boyfriend 2 selfies without a thought. I usually spend f o r e v e r trying to get a perfect one, but I actually liked my face enough to send pictures from my couch in 5 minutes tops.
Haven't seen much movement on the scale yet, but recognizing my face again today and wanting to share it with someone I love was a big win.

This is what it’s all about, it’s this type of progress that can mean so much more than whatever the scale is saying. I know it can be discouraging when that number doesn’t move but knowing something is changing can be invaluable along the journey.

From what I’ve read and observed in this sub, keeping track of your progress on many ways other than relying on the scale will help maintain motivation.
