Off days/cheat days

I have been doing IF (16/8, omad) for about 2.5 weeks now and twice I have had off days where I haven't ate the greatest..I have still managed to continue to eat healthy and exercise all other days. I have noticed after these "off days" that it takes me about 2 days to start losing weight again. I try to typically do omad the day after which helps. Does anyone else have this issue? Most of the battle is just trying to eat right and limit my portions.

Yep this has to do with glycogen/water weight storage. The body doesn’t just store energy as fat, it also basically squirrels away sugar water for itself. Until you’ve depleted those stores the body is holding on to a bunch of extra water. Excess carbs are an especial culprit for this.

What do your off days look like? Are you eating slightly over your calorie goals, or 2 times your calorie goals?

If you are eating heavy on the calories then it would be reasonable for your weight to not go down.
