For purely scientific reasons I have been breaking my 96 hour fasts with bigger amounts of complex foods. I don't want to derail my efforts so I postpone the next meal until lunch or dinner the next day. Actually easy after a big meal. Last night it was Chinese buffet and a glass of soda.
Obviously it wasn't as much food as I could have put away if I wasn't fasting as the stomach does shrink but it was a respectable plate. I had control, my appetite is pretty blunted after a fast, but I ate until my stomach felt physically full. Imagine one trip to the buffet table with a plate pretty full of stuff. Well I woke up at 4am (I always wake up in the middle of the night) with a belly ache that felt it was just bellow my stomach, I'm guessing when the stuff started pushing into my small intestine. The ache wasn't that bad and I went back to bed. By the time I woke up again it was gone.
Moral of the story everybody is different. Some can get away with more, my niece can't even get away with eating a regular meal too fast. We all need to figure out what works for us.
And on this note I'm going to knock off the big after fast meals. They are fun but undermine the easy gains I can have from a blunted appetite. I'll focus more on nutrition and in having less calories.

Oh man I’m sorry, and glad it wasn’t worse. I broke my first with an empanada (it was an instant feeling, I really had to end it). I sat at the cafe for like 2 hours chewing it, it was like I forgot how to eat. The staff kept asking if we wanted anything else lol. Couldn’t stomach anything else that day, but the next day I managed to have a proper meal and it wasn’t horrible.
