OMAD

hey guys I recently went carnivore and OMAD to help my chronic burning, tingling, and stabbing pains throughout my whole body. carnivore has helped a ton in only 3 weeks. I’ve only been OMAD for about a week but so far I like it. the only downside so far to OMAD is the sheer amount of food I feel I gotta eat in one sitting. I’m consuming about 2.5 pounds of muscle meat plus tallow plus broth plus liver. I’m just wondering if anyone can relate to this? I feel full usually after about 1.5 pounds of meat but feel that I need to eat another pound so I can stay satiated. Any tips on this? Also do you think OMAD will help my burning/stabbing pain? I suspect I have a severely damaged gut which is causing all kinds of weird symptoms.

Answer

I don’t understand what you are saying here:

“I feel full usually after about 1.5 pounds of meat but feel that I need to eat another pound so I can stay satiated.”

If you are full after 1.5 pounds of meat then you are full after 1.5 pounds of meat (975 calories if lean, plus the broth and liver and yada-yada). Stay satiated for what exactly? And for how long?

Eat dinner, go to bed, wake up the next morning, and at dinner time eat until you are full but not more.

Answer

I’ve honestly slowly eaten less and less on OMAD. I used to eat 2 full meals within an hour. Now I can barely finish one. This is your body telling you it is enough. If you don’t feel satiated for the full 23 hrs following then you can adjust to something like 22:2, 21:3 or 20:4.

OMAD can only do so much. With more chronic issues I’ve seen people recommended alternate day fasting(eat every other day or 36:12) or extended fasts (e.g.48 hrs without or more)

Answer

You don’t need to eat after you feel full. If you have some fear of not being able to sustain OMAD, try 18-6 intermittent fasting and slowly increase fasting duration to make it into OMAD eventually. Don’t stress yourself. Let your body and mind adapt to your new lifestyle gradually.
