Hey guys,
Long time faster here, been on it for 15 years.
I finished my one week fast last Saturday and continued with a restricted mostly keto diet. Mainly Whole Foods.
Last night my fiancé was really craving wings and me, thinking mild wings wouldn’t be too disrupted as my one “cheat meal” went ahead and ordered some for myself. I’m the past, my chest meal has generally helped me start a fast comfortably since even if it’s not that big.. it keeps me full for at least the 18 hour mark and after that the momentum allows me to pull through.
But my god last night was rough. About two or three hours after the meal, I got a terrible stomach ache, it was really really bad. From the moment I finished the 10 wings I felt super full and stuffed. It only got worse from there but at the two hour mark I got severe inflammation and pain that continues on today (not as bad but still not great).
Has anyone experienced this? I’ve definitely broken fasts in worse way over the years and this is the cleanest I’ve been eating my entire life. I haven’t had alcohol in over a year (due to acid reflux, nothing else) I haven’t drank sodas in 10 months, but I’ve definitely been eating a lot cleaner over the past couple of months (getting married in 4 weeks really helps the discipline lol). Also perhaps just getting older?
I’m just wondering if anyone has had any similar stories or if this could perhaps be something else and I should keep a closer eye on it.
Regardless, I’ve started a fast involuntarily and I’ll just continue it lol
Thanks in advance!

Probably it’s just your body adjusting to the heavy meal after a long fast, just pay close attention if the crises repeats.
What you described reminded me to my gallbladder issues in the past (stones). Eventually had to had it removed after 6 months of crises in which everytime I had a heavy meal I’d had to go to hospital with terrible stomach pain that would last about 6-8 hours.
Just be careful of the signs, you should be fine.

I have a lot of food sensitivities and what I’ve learned over the years is that once I abstain from a food that I’m sensitive to for a long time and then reintroduce it, my body’s reaction to it is severe. Way worse than when I was eating it and getting smaller reactions to it. My guess is that you were sensitive to something in those wings and whatever it was, it was something you haven’t eaten in a long time.
