Only lost 5 pounds

Hi so where to start. I’m in a calorie deficit and I track carbs too. Not doing a whole lot of exercise right now due to the weather and work so mostly sedentary. I’m not really seeing any scale changes but I feel less bloaty so that’s a plus. I’ve almost stopped drinking soda and my water intake is almost 48 ounces a day. My clothes seem to fit better but I feel like and I’m not sure do I need to change from 16:8 to 18:6 to really see any results? I consume approximately 1350 calories so I’m not sure if that’s too much or too little. Details. SW: 206 CW: 201 GW: 160 for now F31. Thanks so much for any advice!

Answer

1-2 lbs a week loss is typical, over what period was the 5 lb loss?

Many do see faster change with 18:6, you could also consider schedules like alternate day fasting or occasional longer fasts.

Good luck!

Welcome and congrats on your progress so far! As you’ve noticed already not all changes will be on the scale so celebrate those too. I’d recommend using a tdee calculator then aim for ~500 calories less per day. Google it or I believe the sidebar has a link. 1-1.5lbs per week is a reasonable expectation that’ll last. Your water intake seems low also.

If you’re in this for weight loss then a calorie deficit is the way (CICO) however everyone has a different approach. Good luck on your journey!

Answer

Seems like success to me! Stick with it.

I would probably increase water as your first minor change. If you’re at 48oz, I’d try for 60 consistently and then 72. 100oz a day isn’t uncommon and can help in a plethora of ways.
