Protein Powders for beginners

I am looking to incorporate protein powders into my smoothies. I am curious to know if I can regularly consume 1 scoop of protein powder daily however I only workout twice a week. Any input on this would be appreciated. :)

Answer

Whey protein is quickly digested and is great for pre and post workouts. It has a lot of leucine which tells your body to grow muscle but the taste is off putting.

Casein is digested much more slowly but has a mild almost neutral taste. It’s great for giving your body a slow drip of protein. Body builders use it before bed to provide protein over night. It’s also a good option to cook with due to its taste and consistency.

Answer

A good protein powder for you is going to be one that doesn’t destroy your gut. If you want a cheap one. Go for optimum nutrition. If you have mild lactose intolerance get one with lactase enzymes. If you don’t want a whey protein get redcon1 mre lite.

Answer

Protein powder should be used as an addition to your diet NOT a supplement or replacement. Put in the time to make sure your regular meals are sound and align with your goals. Kaged, Gold Standard, and Garden of Life are my go to protein, as well as companies.

Answer

People drink protein shakes for multiple reasons, including muscle gain, weight loss, and injury recovery. Aside from protein supplements, there are many natural foods that provide you with high-quality protein, including eggs, meat, poultry, fish, dairy, and legumes. Protein shakes and powders have become very popular these days, primarily due to:
• Convenience
• Taste / palatability
• Cost-per-serving
Always keep in mind that protein shakes are a dietary supplement and not a substitute for real whole foods. They may help you complete or enhance your diet if you need an extra boost to meet your daily protein target and that’s it. If you decide to use whey protein opt for grass-fed and ideally organic to avoid the potential presence of antibiotics, agrochemical residues and bovine growth factors, such as rBGH.
