Question for everyone here

For those of you who do OMAD- do you eat at maintenance? Cut calories? I’m not sure exactly how aggressive I should be. I’m 26m. 190-195 depending on the day. OMAD. Fairly active, 4 title boxing workouts per week. I’ve been eating at 2000 calories for a week, I think my maintenance level is 2800. Is this too aggressive?

Answer

I would suggest checking out a slow carb diet + OMAD. I’m not sure how folks feel about books like the four hour body around here, but it sounds like it could be what you’re looking for. It’s helped me better tune how many calories I intake depending on what I do, while also paying attention to the kind of calories I take in. I’m trying to lose weight now, but years ago I was about 6’1” and 190lbs while pretty fit. I would do about 2200-2500 a day but I was trying to maintain my size…. Until I rediscovered fast food and depression, don’t do that kids.

Problem I found with OMAD at that caloric intake, is it was hard to eat 2000+ calories of nutrient dense food in a single sitting. So I ended use doing 1100ish calories twice a day during a five hour window before and after working out. Hope that helps, good luck.

Answer

Depends on what you aiming for, and your size. 195lb at 5ft tall you should be in a large calorie deficit, 195 at 6ft -800 calories seems like a lot. Do you feel horrible? If it is too harsh your workouts will suffer and you will start to feel pretty bad. If you are functioning fine, it should be fine for now. Depends on your goals.
