Since your goal is to lose weight, it’s important to remember that weight loss comes down to calories in versus calories out. IF is a tool people use to make it easier to eat fewer calories, since you’re restricting when you eat. IF by itself won’t help you lose weight if you eat more calories than your body uses.
Another important aspect of losing weight is being able to stick to your weight loss plan, and since you say that it’s easy to hold yourself accountable using IF, that’s a good sign. Just make sure you’re accounting for calories too!
Congrats on taking the first step, and good luck on your journey!
Don’t focus on weight, focus on how you feel. Give it a few weeks. You’ll notice you eat less, and go longer feeling fine about not eating. You’ll stop feeling snacky. You’ll lose weight, but it starts with following the fasting schedule explicitly. Good luck!
I think you can easily reach your goal within a year. IF provides a great structure to meet these goals but what you are eating also plays a big part. There are many different approaches as to what you eat that will produce results. Do a little research on what type of foods you want to eat. The one thing that I think will help the most is to cut out processed foods and sugars. Also stop snacking between meals. When you do eat, eat until you are full.
