Hello,
as one of the Moderators of this subreddit we want to create a FAQ to make things easier for new people arriving here. We would appreciate it if you could comment questions that would/could have helped you to have a better start into this subreddit / the snakediet concept in general in this thread.
Thanks

A couple things I’ve thought of, or that seem to be posted regularly enough (along with my comments/answers). I’ve also included some additional thoughts that seem relevant.
- The Snake Diet is more than dieting to lose weight. It’s about building discipline, figuring out what works for you, and getting healthy. Discipline will transcend other areas of your life and you’ll see your life improve.
- What are rolling 48s/72s/96s? Fasts are commonly referred to by their number of hours. Doing a “48” means fasting for 48 hours. Rolling means you’ll fast for your set time frame, eat/refeed, then “roll” into your next fast.
- What is a “dry” fast vs a “normal” fast? On a “normal” fast you can consume snake juice and water. Snake juice is preferred because of the salt and electrolytes. A “dry” fast (or soft dry fast) means not drinking anything for a period of time whether it’s 12 hours, 24 hours, etc. A “hard dry” fast means NO water contact (no showers, no drinking water, etc.).
- What should I eat for a refeed? Keep it to 500 calories. Low carb/high fat/moderate protein seems to work best for getting back in to ketosis after your meal and making the fasts “easier”. Avoid processed garbage at any cost. Natural foods like meats and vegetables are your friend.
- How often should I drink Snake Juice/how long should it take to drink my entire liter of snake juice? Go by how you’re feeling. Thirsty? take a few sips. Getting a headache? Take a few sips. There’s no set time frame for how much or how fast to drink. Go by how you’re feeling. Be warned that slamming the entire thing back may lead to a very fast bathroom visit.
- Which one of Cole’s 184781894 routines is right for me? Figure it out by experimenting. Start with a 48 hour fast and if you’re feeling good, push it to a 72. Feel rough after 48? Eat a small refeed and jump into another 48. Comfortable with 48s? Maybe try a 48 with the last 24 hours dry.
- My doctor/grandma/best friend/nutritionist says I’ll go into starvation mode if I don’t eat every day. - You don’t need to eat every day, or every other day, or even every week, especially if you’re overweight. If you have excess body fat on you, you’re not going to starve. No fat person has ever starved to death. Your body fat is fuel. Treat it as such.
