Regain and getting back to it

Admittedly, it’s not much regain, but I’ve totally lost all my motivation to keep going. It’s so easy to fall off the wagon, but so hard to get back on. Would you mind sharing your tips for when you feel hopeless or not inspired to fast? Or tips for getting back to it? I could use some help. I don’t want to get farther away from my goals and bodily aspirations, but as an obese child trying to meander my way to a healthy adulthood - shit is hard!!!

Hey, I totally empathize and relate to you. As someone who had ( and still has?😅) an unhealthy relationship with food, and who lost a ton of weight, only to gain some back…this might be unconventional advice for this sub, but eat, but far below your daily needed calories. I understand and acknowledge that this isn’t what fasting is, but it’s been super helpful for me AND has promoted a few days of complete fasting a week (where I would otherwise would have none). However, I make sure that what I’m eating is healthy and beneficial for my body. Mathematically, you’ll still experience weight loss this way (if that’s your goal ofc) while still keeping motivation and eating healthy…or not eating some days! As someone who is prone to binging, any day that I eat less then my caloric needs keeps the clock going on my “fast”. I feel like I might get lambasted for this, but it’s been really helpful 😊
