Some people will advise against this, but I weigh myself every morning at the same time with a smart scale. Being able to see my progress charted over time really helps me feel more accomplished. I have lost 120 pounds but still see myself as fat in the mirror and not happy with how I look, the scale makes me feel better.
Also when clothes start fitting different. IF takes a bit, the weight that will fall off the quickest is the water weight at the beginning. You have to consistent to see results. Don’t treat it as a diet, IF is a lifestyle change.
I never did, like I knew I’d lost weight (it was during Covid and the odd time I’d wear real pants to go grocery shopping, they’d be falling down), my clothes were getting looser, went back to the office after WFH and everyone commented, but I still didn’t really see it (I’d lost 60ish pounds). Even now, some 2.5 years later, I’m still unsure if I can buy a med on line and constantly order stuff that’s way too big lol
All that to say, I never really “saw” it, so don’t get discouraged, and pay more attention to how you/your clothes feel than a number on the scale
Started January 13th @ 266.9 lbs. Current weight as of this morning is 225.8 lbs. So 40 lbs in eight weeks.
Mostly 18:6, sometimes OMAD, mostly I break my fast with two bowls (4 cups) of miso soup in the afternoon. Once every other week I do a 48 hour fast before my Dungeons and Dragons game nite so I can eat candy, chips and a massive bacon cheeseburger, fried and soda that night.
Other than that, I “clean fast” with no artificial sweeteners, lemons, etc in my drinks or teas. And I drink about 6-8 cups of hot green tea a day along with two cups of dandelion tea.
If you search through my post history you’ll find plenty of my OMAD meal posts and see I eat lots of meat and potato meals, still haven’t had a salad yet since I started Intermittent Fasting. I kinda got a hankering for one to me honest…maybe a good taco salad, lol.
