should i continue fast?

Dry fasted for 28 hours till this morning I woke up really thirsty and impulsively drank a small zero sugar sprite and a couple sips of water. Now i know that technically broke the dry fast but my plan was to go 3 days to surpass my last attempt that was about 60 hours. Should I just call it a day or can I just keep going even though the mishap? It's not for weight loss I'm doing it for all the other physical but more mental benefits.

I think you should continue, but don’t do that next time.

You will get back into the deep ketosis soon, as it was only a bit of water. Your results will probably lessen due to the “time off”.

You should move around to help avoid water retention - typical when you’re super dehydrated and only partially rehydrate yourself.

When you intentionally break the fast make sure to slowly drink a ton of water (with lots of electrolytes; salt, potassium, baking soda, etc) to help hydrate but also flush it right back out of you, avoiding water retention. Exercise can also help you flush out the extra water.

Don’t beat yourself up! Things happen for a reason. Learn the lesson and don’t repeat the mistake :) You’ll be fine.
