Relatively new to fasting, & have been trying to do it strictly for maximum benefits... Trying to avoid using any chemicals on my skin (no makeup, natural cleansers, etc) as well as no chemicals in my body (obviously). I’m loving it so far— currently on my second 7-day fast after many successful 2 & 3 day fasts.
One thing that’s been really helping me through the waves of hunger or boredom is having a nice nighttime ritual where I do some relaxing yoga followed by an epsom bath with candles & the works, and have been using some of my favorite bath products as well. I just considered that my favorite bath product is a natural sugar scrub with cocoa butter... but is it possible my skin will actually absorb some sugar and break my fast??
Answer
No. Never heard of bath products used externally breaking fasts. Only thing that sounds close is if one was to dry fast (without water). Even then, there’s 2 kinds of dry fasting, soft, which allows washing and skin contact with water, and hard, which allows no contact with water and instead relies on what the body has inside already. Don’t think topical sugar will have any effect on your digestive system.
