Don’t get discouraged during the first couple of weeks. They’ll be the hardest by far, and it’s all downhill and easy from there. Once you’re adjusted you won’t be fighting hunger constantly, so don’t be discouraged and make sure you are prepared to push hard until you are at that point. It won’t take long.
Lastly, I’m proud of you for making this decision for yourself.
Take it easy, be kind to yourself. You’re not gonna be perfect off the bat, aim for 80% better than you’re doing now!
If you haven’t yet, figure out your TDEE and hit below that. I like MFP to track, lots like lose it. Lots of water! If you can, go for a walk around the block, every week go a little further
You got this :)
Weight loss happens only via calorie deficit. The most direct way is to track your calories and select a daily calorie target and eat within those limits (You can start with 1800 cal/day, would recommend calculating your BMR and then it will suggest a daily calorie range for deficit. https://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html)
Also yeah would recommend you to approach it like a long term thing, stick to what you can work out for the rest of your life. for eg I can clearly see myself swapping black coffee over coffee with milk and sugar.
Just focus on the healthy behaviours
Start slowly, ideally with a 12:12 method, so you can learn the basics and get used to this new lifestyle. As someone said, do not lose motivation if you don’t see your expected progress in a few days or weeks - it takes time. Good luck!
Whatever your fasting schedule is, Do not eat three hours before bedtime and get a solid 6-8 hours of sleep.
Remember for the first couple days, if you used to drink a lot of caffeine, that withdrawal is the cause of the headaches, not the fasting
