Starting a 5 Day Fast!

I've been actually wanting and looking forward to my next extended fast and finally decided last night that it's going to be this whole week. I usually do OMAD five or six days a week and recently added three to four days of exercise as well. With the exercise added in I've actually noticed not only feeling better but my body is looking slimmer. However for the last two weeks or so I haven't seen any change in my weight, aside from that one or two pounds that comes and goes as it pleases. I definitely need to change up my diet when it comes to my one meal. My mindset has been too "well fuck it I'm eating so I'm going all out." I'm hoping this five days will help me drop a few more pounds and I'll be feeling motivated to eat better when its all over. I want to keep working out this week if possible. I know I will be able to today because I normally workout while fasted in the afternoon before my one meal. However multiple days in I don't know if I'll be able to tackle weight lifting and way too many squats. Has or does anyone successfully workout during extended fast without keeling over? I will definitely feel it out tomorrow and stop if I start getting too shakey or anything. Wish me luck!

Answer

Started a 5 day fast last night after dinner.

Planning on doing a couple rolling 5 x 2 fasts to reset and kickstart some weight loss.

Have done a 6 day fast before, most difficult part in terms of hunger is first ~48hours, particularly ~2hrs around your regular meal time(s).

For me, after that the difficulty starts to fade from hunger to a mild back of the mind “I’m bored, I wanna eat” feeling that is less “painful” but more nagging and constant.

As for working out the second day and maybe third day will be ROUGH because your body is shifting fuel sources and is NOT efficiently using fat yet meaning you have no “quick energy” reserves from glycogen stores.

Take it easy and go just as hard as you can handle, it still has benefits.

Good luck, you got it!
