I've had a lot of folks write me since I posted about my 17-day fast in June to tackle a year of long-COVID symptoms (general fatigue, brain fog, extreme exhaustion after minor everyday tasks). I didn't need the full 17 days - I was just so thrilled to get my energy and clarity back after a year without either, so I extended my original 10-day run - but I've been in the best mental and physical shape of my life ever since. So, very thankful I took the leap.

I'm going into a five-day fast right now, for two reasons: first, because I'd like to take a leap forward in weight-loss goals, after successfully holding at a designated plateau for the last few weeks; and second, because I've offered myself as an accountability buddy for someone else who's suffering from immune system / long-COVID issues that might also be improved by deep autophagy (e.g., the kind that starts around day three).
Is anyone else struggling with immune system / inflammation / long-COVID symptoms? Does anyone else want to take the five-day leap with us?
The clock starts for me in a few minutes, at bedtime. Tomorrow morning, it's back to my personal routine of potassium and a pinch of salt with water; green tea throughout the day; and magnesium with salt four hours before bed. I'll be throwing in some light runs and low-level resistance training, because I'm now used to exercising through an extended fast (rolling 72s for the win!), but I did an hour-long walk once a day during my first fast, and that was just fine, too.
If you want to join in, I'd love to hear what you're struggling with, what fasts you've done before, what personal issues you're going to watch out for while fasting this time, and what you're going to do to fill the (admittedly boring) long hours of an extended fast. (I have a lot of projects myself, and I look forward to the extra time for them!) You've got this, champs!

I started…i am at 58h. What can i say is that the more time passes, the less i feel the need of food. The only times i think about food is when i see my friends eating but then i remember my purpose. I already feel healthier, it fixed my digestive system already, no more bloating, i feel energic during day. It also made sleep more at night. I always had a good sleep as i would sleep from 10-10:30 pm to 7am during the week and like 9am in weekends but now by 9 pm i am already falling asleep. Before starting i ate low carb food.
