Yeah, 12 is okay since circadian rhythm fasting is a thing. But usually 16h is a minimum amount of time for it to be considered a fast.I mean, we’ve seen people all around. 16 is really not as hard as it sounds. It’s gonna be hard at first but it does get easier. it’s really just kind of about letting go of that sense of urgency your mind will give you when it says it’s hungry (when it might not be)
We could fast together if it would make you feel better.
12 is a nice place to start. You can move on from there.once you’re comfortable.
You get your mind off eating by being confident that you can handle fasting. So take it slowly and the anxiety of not being able to eat will slowly no way.
Definitely set up a schedule before fasting.
16:8 fast ratio is an excellent starting point.
16 hours no eating and just water. (Black Coffee, Tea and Carbonated Water is ok too)
8 Hour Eating window.
Pick a time to stop eating…say like 7pm till whenever the 16 hours is up. This provides a solid goal and foundation for forst time fasts.
I’d also take a couple weeks of really increasing your water intake and less snacking in-between your regular meals before starting.
Best of luck!
Cheers.
If you eat dinner at 5.30pm and just skip breakfast the next day and wait until noon, you can easily do 16 hours. There might be a few miserable days to begin with, where your hormones are telling you to eat NOW or you’ll DIE, but you can safely ignore that ;D
Consult your doctor, we don’t want you to die.
Also, walking is good for you. Start going down the street then around the block then 2 laps…etc. you can even zone out and watch Netflix as you walk if youre on a safe pathway.
But most likely you can do 24/48+ hours fasts no problemo. It’s mostly a mental thing and has no physical ailments.
But ask you doctor. They will know.
