I got this from The Fasting Method podcast. Break your fast 30 min before your first meal with some psyllium husk or chia seeds (prepare those 30 min prior). Drinking 8 oz of water with chia seeds 30 min before a meal has helped me. It delays that speed run of your digestive system and keeps me more regular.
The ratio for breaking a fast that I’ve personally done is:Drink fresh pressed juice mixed 50/50 with water for however many days you fasted.
So if you fasted 3 days, for 3 days you drink fresh pressed juice mixed 50/50 with water.
Then, you eat raw fruit/veggies for 3 days, since you fasted for 3 days. This turns every fast into a 3x process, and that doesn’t include the lead in, which if vital for healthy fasting.
But this ratio I’ve given you is a healthy way to break a fast of 5 - 10 days, maybe more, I only speak from experience. Solid food isn’t even apart of the equation when breaking a fast. You break fast with fresh pressed juice from blueberries and stuff like that.
So if you’re 36 hours on water only, then for 36 hours you drink juice (50/50 with water) only, then after those 36 hours, you eat fruit, raw veggies, only. After that you do whatever you want, but making wise decisions will help you not need to do an extreme fast for health reasons again. We typically end in these positions needing to fast and such because we make less than the best decisions for ourselves.
