When you think about eating just that one brownie or spoonful of ice cream or one little tuna *sandwich*, thinking that it isn't going to hurt you very much, instead realize that you are feeding gut microbiota that love sugar and other carbs and will try **to make you** keep those carbs and sugars coming. It is a fact that gut microbiota have a real and tangible influence over our behavior and our lives. It is in their interests to have evolved the power to influence us over the past million years. Instead, you have to starve that enemy out. You now have a target for your rage and frustration and you have a means to vent and express that rage and frustration. Starve your most intimate and deadly enemy.
These gut microbes that love sugar and carbs can be looked upon as a disease. From this perspective, just about everyone in modern society is sick. They are carrying around in their guts microbes who do not have their best interests at "heart".
Answer
How do we cultivate the right microbes, and clear out the problematic ones? There’s been lots of talk about gut flora lately, but not much in the way of what’s effective. Or there is good information and I’m not seeing it.
