The question about Avocado

I understand that Avocado has a lot of good nutrients and healthy fats. However, did you noticed any benefits from consuming it? I'm talking about skin, hair and etc..

Answer

The idea that you can tell if a certain food gives you better skin hair or nails is almost impossible to tell. Life factors like stress, sleep, hydration, and micronutrient deficiencies are way more effective towards those and can also make it impossible to know if adding one food to your diet effects it.

Answer

While it’s hard to pinpoint the culprit, including avocado, dark chocolate, eggs with yolks, nut butter, and nuts/ seeds in my diet has made a noticeable improvement in my hair and skin. My nails are the easiest way to tell. They do less of the splitting in half thing into separate layers, less hangnails and chipping. My hair is thicker and shinier with less hair loss (I clean the drain myself, yes I’m sure!). I track my water intake and keep a regular sleep schedule so that’s not the factor.

Answer

personally, after eating avocado my stomach rumbles a lot. not because of hunger but i guess the digestion takes a little more effort. didn’t notice any benefits from SOLELY eating avocado. benefits arise from a routine of consistency and lots of self betterment. they’re yummy though!

Answer

Definitely. Clearer skin, my hair and nails grow really fast. Same goes for eating eggs, chicken, nuts, fish. Anything with healthy fats is going to do great things for your hair skin and nails. And drinking lots of water. Avocados are a godsend though.

Answer

It’s far more important to focus on how you feel instead of how you look.

It’s hard to identify the impact of different foods on how you feel and how your body performs unless you really simplify your diet, and then add things in periodically and observe the impact.

Write it down.

If you can find what makes you feel good, 9 times out of 10 it’s also going to improve your outward appearance.

Note: focus on what “feels” good, not what “tastes” good e.g. a Big Mac and fried may taste good, but how do you feel for the 1-4 hours after you eat it?

Answer

Avocados are high in calories . If you do consume don’t go overboard with it. It probably will give you good skin and all that but you won’t necessarily notice if you have a shitty diet. Do you have to make sure you do the 80/20 rule. That means that 80% of the time you eat clean and healthy 20% of the time you eat junk food

Answer

Clean eating and including lots of avos as they are in season, cut all processed carbs, and included other healthy fats, nuts, and seeds, my eczema cleared up, and my hair is glossier and less frizzy. I also worked on sleeping well for 8 hours, and intermittent fasting, probiotic foods so hard to know how much of it is the avos but I feel good after eating them. My friend however feels awful after eating them, so trust your gut… of you feel good eat them, if you don’t then don’t eat them.

Answer

Anecdotally, I’d say yes.

There was a period of time where I was doing keto, and I had an entire avocado every morning with my breakfast. I can tell you that my skin was hands down the best it’s ever been in my life. My hair and nails were stronger than ever, I woke up every day beaming and ready to take on the day…

I’d attribute all that to a combination of the avocado and eggs, lots of water, lifting heavy weights, and a good sleep schedule.

Answer

It is impossible to isolate the effects of 1 food when you eat a mix. Who knows, maybe those Doritos you dip in it cancels the goodness of avocado! This question is meaningless. The experts resort to testing the effects of chemicals extracted from foods on individual cells, and try to draw conclusions from that, but that is also not helpful. Does it help to know that if you eat x amount of item y, it can reduce your mortality by z%? you can’t control for the other parts of your life, and cell-level testing of nutrients only pertain to that cell in the absence of everything else.

Answer

My personal beef with avocadoes is that they’re 1) Not so great for the environment and 2) at the heart of a lot of gang wars in places like Michoacán.

On the other hand, if there ARE going to be gang wars raged over any substance, I suppose it’s better that they be avocadoes (which are good for you and tasty) than narcotics (which are not so good for you).
