The taste

So I've been fasting on and off for a couple of years, and I think my longest one has been about 36 hours. I would really like to do some more extended fasts, but what I struggle with it the taste in my mouth, or lack of. I drink water and herbal tea (usually green tea and mint tea), but it doesn't really help. Even brushing my teeth doesn't make much of a difference. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

Answer

It’s keto breath, it comes from your lungs. There’s nothing you can do for it except not be in ketosis which means not fasting. No amount of brushing, tongue scraping, rinsing, or breath mints will help. Anyone that tells you otherwise doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

Answer

Make sure you’re hydrating properly and I would also recommend getting a tongue scraper, since the dead cells on the tongue aren’t removed along with us eating food, they tend to stay on it, producing smell/bad taste.
