One **CRUCIAL** thing that helped me to keep going was making 0 carbs refeed (eggs, tuna, chicken), why?
**Refeed with carbs:** Wake up next day and see the scale went up 2 - 3kgs, need 72 hours to get back to my pre-refeed weight, it was a **HUGE demotivator** which gaves me mental excuses to change or break the plan!!
**Refeed with 0 carbs:** Wake up weighting the same or less than pre-refeed day, it keeps you motivated because you are seeing **LINEAR** improvements, way less chances of creating random excuses to break the plan.
Some people can say that is only water weight, but the mental impact it has on people that are already starving is huge, you can even binge like a PIG but do it with 0 carbs!!
Fuck i know it´s water but i want to see a linear progress, if i wanted the ups and downs and the emotional rollercoaster i might as well start day trading again.
EDIT: For those of you who like some data.
Initial weight: 73KG
After a 6 Water fasting and before the refeed 67kg
After refeeding with 6 eggs + 2 non fat canned tunas +salt, the next day i was weighting 66,8KG, the weight loss speed reduced but it still went down.
OBS: I am doing PURE water fast right now, so the weight probably didnt go down even further because salt retains water. For those doing the snake diet religiously the weight will drop even further.

It’s all about finding what works for you. There are a million ways to skin this cat of weight loss and I can say “I don’t think that’s the best because of X reason or you don’t need to do that” but my goals are different than yours. The biggest #1 thing in my opinion is ADHERENCE. Adherence to the weight loss protocol trumps all other factors if your goal is to shed fat. Glad you found what motivates and works for you!!

This is a very interesting perspective. It’s got my wheels turning. Could you provide some more examples of what someone could eat, to go this route? I’m ending an extended fast later this week. I really think I might try this. Gaining so much weight after one re-feed just totally wrecks me, emotionally. I would love to avoid that!

I think there’s more mental health issues here than fat issues. Look, glucose is needed for the brain and hormones to run properly. Tons of protein is taxing on the kidneys. Yes, you need carbs. Being in ketosis too long has serious effects. I say this after having a stroke because of it.Dr. Kali DuBois
