I tried searching but didn't find what I was looking for.
So I primarily use warm water and a honey-based cleanser (it foams, is not homemade), then coconut oil for moisture. Nothing extravagant or complicated. I enjoy doing lymphatic drainage massage on my face so I'd like to continue that, but I was wondering if any of you think the products would affect a prolonged fast?
In all honesty, I'll probably just do warm water rinse and then coconut oil to massage, then pat dry with a wet washcloth, because this whole process just feels like a self love and self care kinda process and I'm trying to indulge in doing all the things I love that aren't food related. Reading, writing, going for walks, massages (at home), journaling, etc.
But what do you guys think? Should I leave it alone?
Answer
I’m certain that anything absorbed by the skin doesn’t enter the digestive tract and as such should be of no concern to any fasting benefits. I think that’s why you can’t find a ‘do or don’t’ answer, the two things just aren’t connected.
Answer
if doing that while fasting makes you feel good, busy, and motivated, do it. as for myself, i dont over-complicate things while fasting, and i use coconut oil for my hair, not skin, because the molecule of the coconut is too big for the pores and clogs it up, resulting in horrendous breakouts.
