You can make decent coconut milk by diluting the cans of coconut milk/cream which are much cheaper. You might need to experiment with how much water to how many cans depending on how you like it. Also needs to be shaken each time before use as they do separate. But it works!
If something cheap to make, is made with a hell of a lot of chemicals and fillers. It’s shit. Alpro is severely overcharging for coconut milk, almond milk, etc and everyone keeps buying it. Blows my mind. Also has useless forms of vitamins and minerals in unbalanced portioning but that’s a whole other thing.
It barely contains any actuall coconut milk. Think about how low the calories are for a coconut product, then look at a tin of organic coconut milk that’s just coconut milk… then look at what you pay. Lights should shine. If you want to lower the calorie of real coconut milk, put it in a shaker or blender with some water and it should mix fine to achieve the same thing.
Have a look at how dirt cheap it is to make almond milk and then realise you can almond flour as a bi product. Realise that they then use fillers to make you think there’s more. (Not you can actually make a super cheap nut milk by just blend some nut butter and water… blew my mind)
The claims that these fillers are needed is horse dung at best. Since it doesn’t make it taste better, gives it the texture of another liquid that ain’t consumed… well atleast normally anyway 👀, and is also costing of half pennies.
Personally high quality dairy, organic and grass fed cheap enough. Use about half water, half milk because I actually control my calcium intake. If not I use the nut butter trick or I use yogurt.
I’m sure there’s videos out there that could slam these companies better than I could, but yeah. Overpriced, not healthy, unbalanced.
